It started the way most good things do — with a problem nobody wanted to solve. In 2022, our founder was trying to convert a beat-up hardtail into an ebike and couldn't find the parts locally. The big online retailers shipped from overseas with eight-week lead times. Local bike shops didn't stock ebike components. Nobody was bridging the gap.

So he cleared out half his parents' garage in Burnaby, ordered a pallet of hub motors and lithium cells from a supplier he'd spent months vetting, and started filling orders out of cardboard boxes on a folding table. His brother handled deliveries in a Civic. Their mom kept the books in a spiral notebook.

Within six months, word got around. Bike shops from Vancouver to Chilliwack started calling — not for full bikes, but for the parts their customers actually needed. Controllers that worked with existing setups. Battery packs with real specs, not marketing numbers. Chargers that didn't catch fire. Zoomies became the supplier those shops trusted when a customer walked in with a conversion project and a budget.

By the end of that first year, the garage wasn't cutting it. We moved into a small warehouse in the Lower Mainland, hired our first two employees (both riders), and launched the online store so anyone in BC could get the same parts the shops were ordering. No minimum quantities. No dealer-only pricing games. Just the right part, tested, in stock, and shipped the same day.

Today we ship across Canada and internationally, but the business still runs the same way it did in that garage. Every product gets tested before it goes on the shelf. Every customer gets a real answer when they ask which motor fits their frame. And we still deliver to local shops ourselves when the timing's tight.
